Judge - Peggy Lee

I enjoyed judging this show from the day I got the contract. Lee Brown really rolled out the red carpet for me. He informed me of weather, mileage, total of entries, and even got me a delightful 1st floor room right at ringside. His club members should be commended for putting on a 2 day show
such as this. The site is gorgeous and plenty of dog walking areas with buckets and trash cans for clean ups. The club members thought just about everything to accommodate the exhibitors...and the judge. Mardi Gras was evident by everyone in flashy beads (I think Bart even wore them <G>) and eating King Cake. Nothing left for me. :-(

The entry both days was 4 pts in dogs, 5 pts bitches, but due to a tremendous amount of absentees, points dropped to 2 pts. dogs, 3 pts. bitches. Both days, the Winners Dog went Best of Winners, thus picking up the 3 pt. major. What a shame to have so many absent, but it does happen.

The quality was high in dogs and bitches. Some of the younger dogs needed some work in showing their teeth and behaving better. The younger bitches were better, actually. The American Bred dog class and American Bred bitch classes were excellent. Truly some good ones here. I did quite a bit of gaiting because of the high quality and because there is nothing more beautiful than a German Shepherd with correct motion.

Winners dog and Best of Winners - 3 pts.
Bred by Exhibitor Class - Marquin's Xtra! Xra! - Ch. Weicho's Flash Dance x Marquin's Windsor Lass -a darkly pigmented, very masculine male with excellent bone. He has a hard back, carried a nice topline on a loose leash and covered ground effortlessly. His nice forehand in conjunction with a
hard driving rear with a rear follow-through completed the package. A pleasure to watch in motion. Good temperament.

American Bred - Reserve Winners dog
Beyond "D" Limit of Bo's - GV Ch. Caraland's Unlimited x Windwalker's Chaica of Bo's - Another very substantial male with nice bone and masculinity. A dark sable with good extension in front, nice follow through. Took a few turns to settle down and when he did, he extended beautifully. Good topline on a loose leash, good temperament.

Open Bitch - Winners Bitch - 3 pts.
Helmic's Cassandra - Ch. Ken-Delaine Mastercharge x Ch. Covy Tucker Hill's M & M Jimeni - A very lovely feminine bitch. She never misses a step and extends well in front and follows through in the rear. Her topline is flawless on a loose leash. With short hocks, nice broad curvy stifles she is a total package. Good temperament.

American Bred Bitch - Reserve Winners Bitch
Legato's Sumkinda Wonderful - GV.Ch.Hickoryhills Bull Durham x Legato's Ruby Tuesday - a lovely feminine bitch, with a nice effortless gait. Carried a nice topline on a loose leash and extended well in front, nice rear follow through. Good temperament.

Ch.Hickoryhills Wells Fargo C Pilgrim - GV Ch. Hickoryhills Bull Durham x Pilgrims Thalia V Chablis - Very handsome masculine male, strong head, good topline on a loose leash. Covers ground with nice forehand and rear follow through. Excellent temperament.

Ch.Pilgrim Kelllie Jolly T-Hill - GV Ch. Hickoryhills Bull Durhamn x Silverhill's Sumthin Special - Dark black and red lovely bitch. A moving machine! She has a nice extension in front and rear follow through. Nice topline on a loose leash. Good temperament.

Best Puppy
Carousel Farms Jill V. Cypress - Ch. Carousel Farms Cosby Elkhill x Britta Vom Cypress - Very feminine pretty bitch. She has a good back and topline. Ligamentation is good. Good forehand and rear follow through. Nice breed type. Good temperament. A very promising puppy.

This was a very nice class of puppies. She won on her overall tightness and outline in motion.
